The major points he raised were: @begin[itemize] An MCC has been installed on a customer site and that customer is using it over a megastream link. No technical difficulties in implementation of X.25 (1984). Type 3 software is now stable. Next type 2 release (T2R6) is the last development release of type 2. Type 3 lst release will contain T2R6 functionality; OS4000 Op. Sys; User Group Enhancements; Automatic log collection. @end[itemize] On the question of the User Group Enhancement, the following were being implemented @begin[itemize] P1 - Config details P3 - Better Console Messages N17 - Improved Error Messages E11 - Help facilities N15 - Monitor of calls (Static only) @end[itemize] @section[Exeter GEC Packet Switch] Ian Campbell from Exeter university gave a very interesting description of his experiences with the GEC packet switch at Exeter, his notes are appended as @B{Appendix 1}. @section{JANET Progress} Ian Smith (Network Executive) described the progress of JANET including the transition to the use of GEC only software, his slides are reproduced as @B{Appendix 2}. @section(GEC CL Marketing) Peter Lane (GEC CL marketing) answered questions on the future strategy of the company. @section(User Support) Karen Duff (GEC CL - User Support) described the change which was in User Support and detailed the support position over SIRs. @section[University of York] David Atkins (University of York) described the progress York was making as a final site for the JNT enhancements, although York's brief was only to test out the load sharing aspects. @section{SWURCC} John Thomas (SWURCC descrived the progress with the Ethernet Gateway enhancement software, @B{see Appendix 3}. @begin[verbatim] Issued by Brian Gilmore E.R.C.C.
