Similarly, the line-printer is SCRIBE's
default device.

The output produced on this device will be in
a fixed width type face, and it will not be
possible to change type faces.

SCRIBE is able to produce output for other
devices which are more sophisticated than the
line printer, and these devices allow the use
of different fonts etc.
