SCRIBE.

SCRIBE falls somewhere in the middle of this
range - it is capable of producing simple
output for relatively primitive devices such
as a line printer, but is at the same time
capable of producing quite complex output for
more sophisticated devices such as a laser
printer.

This wide ranging capability arises as a
consequence of SCRIBE's design philosophy
which is a little different from that of most
other text-processors available for use
outside the printing trade.
