Introduction + ____________ 0 The software can be shipped on mag tape in a form ready to be loaded back into a CMS system. It includes all relevant source code together with some EXEC procedures and MODULE files. 0 It is assumed that the recipient is running VM/SP and that the FORTRAN H Extended Plus compiler will be available. 0 The tape is written without labels using the CMS 'TAPE DUMP' command, and the normal VM/SP options are assumed (e.g: BLKSIZE 4096). For convenience, the tape is split into a number of files separated by TAPE MARKs, and there are two TAPE MARKs at the end. A listing showing the tape layout is supplied with the tape. 0 Unless otherwise requested, the tape is written at 6250 bpi. - 2. Virtual Machine Environment + _______ _______ ___________ 0 The installer should of course first check that there are no files already on his 'A' disk, with the same names as files on the tape. Such files would be overwritten without warning. 0 If the installer's 'A' disk has the equivalent of 6 cylinders or more of free space on a 3350, the installer can read the whole tape using the single command: 0 TAPE LOAD (EOT 0 To allow space for all the TEXT and LISTING files produced when the whole of the code is assembled or compiled, a further 6 cylinders should be allowed. 0 Files of types ASSEMBLE and FSOURCE are held on the 'D' disk at RAL; if this is different at the new site, the FORT EXEC procedure will need to be modified accordingly. 0 For information on how to set up the virtual machine in which VMNCP is to be executed, Ref. E1 should be consulted. - VMNCP INSTALLATION PAGE 1 1 0 Ref. E2 - 3.
